Led by breathwork facilitator Katy Maclean, each 90-minute workshop in this series will begin with a guided active breathwork session followed by supported integration and heart-led journaling to promote mental, physical, and spiritual recalibration and expansion. Working with potent energy of the chakra system, this series will provide a safe container to come home to yourself, to release what’s no longer serving you, and to unlock new insights in support of your highest self. The 7 chakras will be broken down over three sessions, building a progression of energetic balancing from the root to the crown through breath and inner exploration.
What to bring:
A journal, pen, and water bottle. Mats, blankets, tea, and supportive props will be provided. Changes in body temperature during active breathwork are common so please wear loose, comfortable layers.
What to know:
Active breathwork is a three-part breathing technique cued to rhythmic music that helps to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mental clarity and energy levels, release stuck energy and trauma in the body, and help you sleep better. This practice creates a mental shift that quiets the ego, allowing us to move energy and connect inward on a deeper level by tapping into the healing power of the breath. Active breathwork can be practiced by all healthy individuals. Please note this practice is not suitable for pregnant people or those with severe asthma, epilepsy, high blood pressure, heart conditions, or a history of heart failure or stroke. If in doubt, please consult a healthcare professional before signing up. Alternate breathing techniques will be provided for those who require modifications.
This is a queer-led event. All bodies and identities are welcomed and affirmed.
